I’ve worked on more Boonex / Dolphin communities than I’d be willing to admit. No, seriously… my hands have touched thousands of them. I had been securing them before Boonex was able to with simple rules as a simple chat / phone technician.
A few things I’ll note, if you’re on a shared server just stop reading. Consider getting a VPS. Boonex is bloated in terms of coding and also in terms of functionality. So onward, a few tips.
*Don’t run php as SuPHP. Either run as an apache module (easiest) or FastCGI.
*Add at least the following to you’re my.cnf
query_cache_limit = 1M
query_cache_size = 32M
key_buffer_size = 64M
max_heap_table_size = 256M
tmp_table_size = 256M
thread_cache = 128
*Install apache’s mod_expires, php eAccelerator, memcache. I will be doing a memcache as a daemon write up shortly, so check back often.
